De Facto Fiction Films
is a documentary film, television, and multimedia production company offering a variety of services ranging from documentary project development, research, producing and directing, to editing picture and sound, and post-production consulting and supervising.

Founded in 1998 by Paul Alexander Juutilainen, an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker, De Facto Fiction Films specializes in biographical/ historical programming, performing and visual arts, and social documentaries.

De Facto Fiction Films has particularly explored the boundaries between personal narrative, story structure, and fact and fiction. Juutilainen has over ten years of experience working on broadcast documentaries, distance learning programs, and educational and non-profit videos.

Programs produced by De Facto Fiction Films have received funding and support from KPBS-TV, KFMB-TV, KGTV-TV, UCSD-TV, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Pacific Pioneer Found, The Russel Foundation, the Eastman Kodak Company, the California Council for the Humanities, and the International Documentary Association.
